Trillium Health Partners (THP) is the largest community based academic health network in Ontario, serving over one million residents in the communities of Mississauga, Peel Region, and West Toronto. The hospital encompasses three main sites - Credit Valley Hospital (CVH), Mississauga Hospital (MH), and Queensway Health Centre (QHC) - offering a full range of acute care hospital services, as well as a variety of community-based specialized programs. Trillium Health Partners has begun an infrastructure renewal journey toward the Peter Giligan Mississauga Hospital, the Shah Family hospital for Women and Children, and the Peter Giligan Queensway Hospital.
We are seeking full-time Associate and Locum Tenens General Anesthesiologists to be members of our Anesthesia Program, providing clinical services to all three sites of the Hospital and eventually the new hospital system. The successful candidates will be a member of a group of Anesthesiologists who provide general anesthesia services. THP's Anesthesia Program has a combined case load of more than 60,000 cases per year, a busy anesthesia consult service, and an acute pain service.
The Anesthesia Program supports a robust regional anesthesia service with the largest amount of regional being done at QHC which is our Ortho center. MH provides broad coverage to multiple subspecialties within the hospital including neurosurgery, vascular, spine, Hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) surgery. At CVH there is a regional cancer centre, thoracic surgery, and pediatric surgery. Also, at CVH we provide Anesthesia services to the Women's and Children's Health Program that is equipped with a Level 2C NICU providing support for two birthing suites where approximately 8,600 births happen every year.
THP has an academic affiliation with the University of Toronto opening the opportunity for academic appointment and promotion. The successful candidate is expected to participate in teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate medical learners, anaesthesia assistant and other allied health. There also an opportunity to participate in education scholarly activities at the Mississauga Academy of Medicine (MAM) and quality improvement and learning health system projects through THP's research arm, the Institute For better Health (IBH).
