- Minimum Pay: $37.13/hr.
Responsibilities:
- Gathers information from patient interviews and observation and documents appropriately.
- Performs accurate and appropriate audiological evaluations according to departmental policies and procedures and patient age.
- Instructs and counsels patients, families, and/or caregivers regarding evaluation results and recommendations.
- Develops individualized treatment plans for patients requiring aural rehabilitation.
- Performs various audiological evaluations and tests outside of the department when necessary.
- Provides recommendations for follow-up and treatment based on auditory and vestibular function testing results.
- Evaluates and treats patients requiring aural rehabilitation and recommends hearing aid solutions.
- Dispenses appropriate devices and educates patients, families, and caregivers on their use.
- Establishes and maintains departmental policies, procedures, objectives, and safety regulations.
- Keeps accurate records for all patient evaluations and maintains progress notes.
Minimum Requirements:
- Education: Master's degree. Doctorate preferred.
- Experience: One year as Audiologist or completion of clinical rotation.
- Other Credentials: AHA BLS - Healthcare Provider, Audiologist - Licensed, Hearing Aid Dispensing License.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Standard audiological and vestibular function testing.
- Ability to test young children and perform appropriate infant hearing testing.
- Knowledge of digital hearing aid products and solutions.
- ASHA Certified (CCC-A) or doctorate degree.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Frequent physical demands include sitting, standing, walking, pinching/fine motor activities, and keyboard use/repetitive motion.
- Occasional physical demands include climbing, carrying objects, pushing/pulling, twisting, bending, and reaching.
- Continuous physical demands include talking or hearing.
- Lifting requirements: Floor to Waist 50 lbs, Waist Level and Above 10 lbs.
- Sensory requirements include accurate near and far vision, color discrimination, moderate depth perception, and accurate hearing.
Anticipated Occupational Exposure Risks Include:
- Bloodborne Pathogens, Chemical, Airborne Communicable Disease, Uneven Surfaces or Elevations, Dust/Particulate Matter.
