Position Description: The Department of Pediatrics (DoP), invite applicants to apply to this 1.0 FTE, AMHSP position at the Alberta Children’s Hospital (ACH), within Alberta Health Services, Calgary Zone, Section of Pediatric Cardiology. This is a Pediatric Cardiologist AMHSP position, starting November 1 at 1.0 FTE or upon the availability of the successful applicant. This position will be responsible for all aspects of general pediatric cardiology, with inpatient and outpatient duties as required. This is a replacement for an existing position of a Society of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance level 3 Pediatric Cardiology MRI reader. A candidate with level 2 or 3 training is desirable. There are several opportunities for collaboration, with strong ties between Pediatric Cardiology, Neonatal Critical Care, Pediatric Critical Care, Adult Cardiology, Medical Genetics, and Stollery Children’s Hospital.
Planned clinical activity will include:
- Shared consultation service with the Pediatric Cardiology group, including participation in the call schedule.
- Minimum of one half-day ambulatory clinic per week at ACH.
- Participation in the echocardiography reading service shared by the Cardiology Group which includes a minimum of one half day Transthoracic echocardiography reading at ACH.
Qualifications: The Candidate must have a Pediatrics and Pediatric Cardiology subspecialty certification (or equivalent) with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Experience in Pediatric Echocardiography is an asset. The candidate must be eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta. Must read, write, and speak English.
