Alberta Health Services in partnership with The University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, Department of Medicine, Division of Endocrinology and General Internal Medicine, invites applications for an Endocrinologist or General Internist to be based at the Royal Alexandra Hospital (RAH) ambulatory Diabetes clinic located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The Royal Alexandra Hospital (RAH) Diabetes clinic, which is part of the Edmonton zone regional diabetes clinic, serves patients with diabetes in the Edmonton zone. The RAH Diabetes is a multidisciplinary clinic, with a team of physician, nurse, and dietitian.
Responsibilities
The successful applicant is expected to participate in clinical service commitments in the Diabetes Clinic. The weekly volume is for 1 to 2 half day per week. The skillsets required for the applicant are knowledge and experience in diabetes management, including Type 1 diabetes, insulin pumps, and interpretation of CGM downloads. Other expectations include excellent communication skills, and an ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment. It is expected that the clinic providers pursue regular professional activities to ensure the most up-to-date treatment modalities are brought to the clinic. The successful applicant may also be involved in outpatient clinical teaching services, and outpatient clinical nonteaching services. This position is not for diabetes in pregnancy clinics but can be discussed.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have an MD degree, or equivalent and be certified in Endocrinology or General Internal Medicine with the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada.

Remuneration can range between $300,000 to $800,000 per year depending on the number of shifts, patients seen, education & experiences. Total compensation for fee-for-service billings varies by individual practitioner, and the compensation shown reflects the average amounts for this specialty as reported by Alberta Health.
