Family Medicine Physician - Coronation

Alberta Health Services, Central Zone, is actively recruiting a Family Medicine Physician to establish a full-time Family Medicine practice in the community of Coronation. This position requires a scope of practice that includes community clinic, inpatient, outpatient, acute, long term care, and emergency room shifts for the communities of Coronation and Consort. Candidates require recent and relevant experience in all scopes of practice to be performed.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Reside in and have their primary residence within the community;
• Establish and maintain full-time community-based practice within the community;
• Obtain and maintain an AHS Medical Staff Appointment and appropriate privileges to provide the Services;
• Provide call assistance as per call schedules, including full-time participation in the Emergency Department call schedules, as required;

On-call guidelines for this area are as follows:

• Weekday evening call is from 1700 - 0800 hours the next morning.
• Weekend call is from 1200 on Friday to 0800 hours on Monday.

Community Information:

Coronation Hospital & Care Centre has 10 Acute Care beds and 3 ER beds. Attached to the hospital is 23 LTC beds and 19 SL3 beds. Consort Hospital & Care Centre has 5 community support beds (Convalescence, Palliative, and Respite), Ambulatory Clinic/ER, and 15 LTC beds.

Required Qualifications:

• Have or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (required with application), or a current Letter of Eligibility through CPSA;
• Recent and relevant experience in all areas of practice required;
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS);

Desired Qualifications:

• Pediatric Life Support (PALS);
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP);
• Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS)
