This position is a COMMUNITY position and is NOT part of Alberta Health Services.
Job Description:
Physician responsibilities will be to provide quality care to the patients in the community. They will communicate with patients, nurses, doctors, and other members of a care team to explain the diagnosis, determine the best course of treatment, and follow up on recovery. They stay current with medical practice standards and laws. The key duties of a physician are to:
- Order tests and analyze their results.
- Refer patients to specialists as required.
- Create treatment plans and implement them accordingly.
- Explain side effects of medications and treatment options.
- Perform basic medical procedures.
- Record medical encounters on the approved electronic medical record program.
- Identify symptoms and diagnose patients.
- Provide counseling and support to patients and their families on a wide range of health and lifestyle issues.
Qualifications:
Degree in medicine from an approved Medical School
