Family Medicine Physician with Basic Obstetrics and Emergency Medicine - Camrose

Alberta Health Services, Central Zone, is actively recruiting a Family Medicine Physician with Basic Obstetrics in the community of Camrose. This position will join the low-risk obstetrics team and participate in on-call coverage. This position will also be required to provide 2-4 shifts/month in the Emergency Department depending on Obstetric call volume that month.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Reside in and have their primary residence within the community of Camrose;
• Establish and maintain full-time community-based practice within the community;
• Obtain and maintain an AHS Medical Staff Appointment and appropriate privileges to provide the Services;
• Provide call assistance as per call schedules, including participation in the Obstetrics & Emergency Medicine call schedule, as required;
• Abide by the AHS Medical Staff Bylaws, the AHS Medical Staff Rules, and AHS policies;
• Participate in quality improvement programs and initiatives undertaken within the Department of Family Medicine;
• Participate in relevant Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs;
• Contribute to and participate in other administrative responsibilities, as assigned;
• Work collaboratively with peers and care team colleagues in support of patient care.

Required Qualifications:

• Have or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (required with application);
• Recent and relevant experience in all areas of practice required;
• Fetal Health Surveillance;
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP);
• Managing Obstetrical Risk Efficiently (moreOB) / Advances in Labour and Risk Management (ALARM).

Desired Qualifications:

• Certificate of the College of Family Physicians (CCFP);
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS);
• Preference given to those with recent rural experience;
