Our interdisciplinary team includes physicians, NPs, RNs, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dietitians, and massage therapists all working together to anticipate the needs of older adults through a seamless blend of on-site and virtual services.
Position Summary
We are opening our next on-site clinic in Kingston (200 residents, 100 staff) and are seeking a compassionate, team-oriented In-House Physician to lead primary and urgent care services once a week onsite at our partner retirement home in Kingston. You will roster interested residents and staff, deliver comprehensive medical care, and collaborate closely with an on-site Nurse Practitioner and Care Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities
- Primary & Urgent Care: Provide full-scope family practice and urgent assessments to rostered and non-rostered residents and staff.
- Resident & Staff Rostering: Enroll eligible individuals and manage ongoing continuity of care.
- Quality & Safety: Champion evidence-based geriatric care, medication reviews, chronic-disease management, and preventive health initiatives.
- Virtual Care & Documentation: Use Perennials EMR or your own EMR and telehealth tools to chart, order investigations, and communicate with families.
Qualifications
- Licensed (independent practice) and in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
- Minimum two years of experience in family medicine, geriatric medicine, or complex-care environments
- Comfortable practicing autonomously with ready access to NP and nursing support
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and virtual-care platforms
- Excellent bedside manner, communication, and team-leadership skills
Compensation & Schedule
- Monthly stipend for the In-House Physician role
- Standard OHIP billing for all insured services rendered
- Flexible half-day to full-day schedule on-site, with virtual follow-up as needed
