AMHSP Academic Position in Gastroenterology, Motility

The University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, Department of Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology in partnership with Alberta Health Services, invites applications for the academic position in Gastroenterology to be based at the University of Alberta. Located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry is one of Canada’s premier academic medical institutions and is recognized among the world’s top 100 medical schools. The University is currently home to more than 38,000 students with more than 15,000 faculty and staff.

Division of Gastroenterology at the University of Alberta Hospital

The Division of Gastroenterology in the Department of Medicine is one of the largest Gastroenterology and Hepatology centers in Canada with 27 academic physicians and 2 tenured non-clinical faculty members. Its leading-edge research program is supported by more than $3 M annual research funding, its Centre of Excellence in Gastrointestinal Inflammation and Immunity Research, with 45 research trainees.

Qualifications and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be an MD (or equivalent) with certification in Gastroenterology with the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada, or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA). The qualified individual will have extensive experience in clinical management of gastrointestinal motility disorders and successfully completed an advanced fellowship in a major centre within this area. Moreover, proven experience with complex GI motility disorders, motility testing, and administrative leadership are required.
