General Internal Medicine Physician – Grande Prairie

The Grande Prairie Regional Hospital is seeking an Internal Medicine (Generalist) Specialist Physician to join the internal medicine physician group in Grande Prairie.
FRCPC (Fellow, Royal College of Physicians of Canada) designation or equivalency is required.
The Internal Medicine specialist physician will have Alberta Health Services hospital privileges.
This position will include in-patient internal medicine hospital on-call.
Duties include but not limited to:
- Reside in and have as his/her primary residence, Grande Prairie
- Establish and maintain a full-time community-based practice within the community
- Provide internal medicine in-patient hospital and call assistance as required
- Contribute to and participate in teaching programs and activities
- Contribute to and participate in other administrative duties as assigned
The successful candidate may choose to operate their business by joining an existing practice or by opening their own practice. This is the candidate's business choice and will not be managed through the recruitment process.

The Grande Prairie Regional Hospital (GPRH) is a 208-bed acute care facility with a busy emergency department, ICU, NICU, and specialty services in OB/Gyn, orthopedic surgery, general surgery, ophthalmology, ENT, urology, palliative care, pediatrics, and psychiatry; hosting 10,000 discharges, approximately 55,000 emergency department visits, over 1,400 deliveries, and more than 9,000 surgical procedures annually. The new hospital also includes radiation therapy services, further increasing the capacity to provide services to the people of Northwestern Alberta and Northeastern British Columbia.

Required Qualifications:
- Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) certification in Internal Medicine or equivalency
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
