FFS Position Neurologist-Neuro-Ophthalmologist

The University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, Department of Medicine, Division of Neurology in partnership with Alberta Health Services, invites applications for a neuro-ophthalmologist clinical neurologist to be based between the University of Alberta Hospital, Kaye Edmonton Clinic, and Royal Alexandra Hospital with cross-appointment within Department of Ophthalmology. Located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, the Faculty has been internationally recognized as among the world’s top 50 medical schools and as one of Canada’s premier health-education institutions.

Division of Neurology:

  • 60 neurologists in academic and community practice and 3 Scientists
  • One of the largest stroke programs in Canada
  • Internationally recognized research conducted and published
  • All subspecialties of neurology represented
  • 5 research chairs within the Division

Neuro-Ophthalmology Program:

  • Well-established academic clinical program within the Department of Ophthalmology
  • Serves a large catchment area and patient population
  • Neurologist-trained neuro-ophthalmologist needed for expertise and skills

Key Accountabilities:

  • Participation in divisional meetings, retreats, and initiatives
  • Supporting ophthalmology clinical care
  • Educating residents and students
  • Coordinating elective and rotational experiences for trainees
