FFS Position Neurologist-Neuro-Ophthalmologist

The University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, Department of Medicine, Division of Neurology in partnership with Alberta Health Services, invites applications for a neuro-ophthalmologist clinical neurologist to be based between the University of Alberta Hospital, Kaye Edmonton Clinic, and Royal Alexandra Hospital with cross-appointment within Department of Ophthalmology. Located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, the Faculty has been internationally recognized as among the world’s top 50 medical schools and as one of Canada’s premier health-education institutions.

Overview:

  • The Division of Neurology consists of 60 neurologists in academic and community practice and 3 Scientists.
  • UA is one of the largest stroke programs in Canada.
  • Internationally recognized research is conducted and published from UA.
  • All subspecialties of neurology are represented among the faculty.

Responsibilities:

  • Participation in divisional meetings, retreats, and initiatives.
  • Supporting ophthalmology clinical care.
  • Educating residents and students.
  • Coordinating elective and rotational experiences for trainees.

Qualifications:

  • MD degree and certification in Neurology.
  • Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA).
  • Advanced training and expertise in neuro-ophthalmology.
