Alberta Health Services and the Department of Neurology at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital, welcomes applications for a Neurologist to establish a full-time practice in the southern community of Medicine Hat, Alberta.
The Medicine Hat Regional Hospital (MHRH) is an acute care facility, which also includes sub-acute/restorative care beds serving Southeast Alberta with a catchment population of ~110,000. MHRH has 246 acute care beds, 30 geriatric beds, 10 ICU beds and 7 NICU bassinets. MHRH is an accredited Level 3 Trauma Centre providing coverage in Pediatrics, Geriatrics, General Surgery, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynecology, ENT, Urology, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, Plastic Surgery and Cancer services.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Establish and maintain a full-time General Neurology practice in the community of Medicine Hat.
- Provide inpatient and outpatient neurology services within AHS facilities and within the community of Medicine Hat.
- Provide Neurology on-call support as per AHS's on-call schedules and expectations applicable to the South Zone Clinical Department of Medicine practices.
Once chosen, the successful candidate may choose to operate their business by joining an existing independent outpatient practice or form an independent outpatient office of their own. This is the candidate's independent business decision and will not be managed through the recruitment process.
Required Qualifications:
- Have or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (required with application).
- Have or be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Certification (RCPSC).
- Must have or be eligible for FRCPC or equivalent with a Fellowship in Neurology.
