About The Job
The Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse provides:
- Nursing care to psychiatric patients, both by working independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team
- Enhances quality of life for the patient and family; consults, confers, and collaborates with other health care providers
- Demonstrates continuous improvement and evidence-based practice in nursing practice
- Maintains and advances own clinical competence
- Participates on designated hospital committees/teams and approved research projects as assigned

The 16 bed Inpatient Psychiatric Unit (IPU) at PRH provides Acute Mental Health and Substance Use services for the South Okanagan region. Our IPU is a safe, secure, and accessible facility that strives for the highest professional standards of care. We liaison with Community and Tertiary Mental Health and many other community partners to provide a continuum of care for our clients. We adhere to evidence-based practice and endeavor to apply research to practice. We welcome innovation and an expanding scope of practice.
