Registered Nurse (RN) - Practice Monitor (1-Year Contract)

Position Overview

FirstLight Home Care is seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to serve as a Practice Monitor for a regulated health professional currently under monitoring requirements issued by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO). This is a one-year contract role in a clinical setting. The successful candidate must be present for all patient interactions and ensure compliance with the regulatory conditions in place, which prohibit the healthcare provider from being alone with any patient during professional encounters.

Responsibilities

• Act as a continuous presence during all patient encounters to ensure compliance with CPSO monitoring conditions.
• Maintain objective and detailed documentation of patient interactions.
• Ensure that the healthcare provider is never alone with any patient, in person or otherwise.
• Report concerns or observations according to established monitoring protocols.
• Uphold professional standards of conduct, confidentiality, and neutrality in all interactions.

Requirements

• Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) as an RPN
• Minimum of 5 years nursing experience
• Fluent in English and Arabic
• Previous experience in clinical or primary care settings preferred
• Valid CPR/BLS certification (within the last 12 months)
• Clear Vulnerable Sector Check (within the last 12 months)
• Proof of professional liability insurance
• Reliable transportation to the clinic site
