Who we are looking for
VOLO is currently seeking a Nurse Practitioner with expertise in medical cannabis treatment. As a Nurse Practitioner - Cannabis Medical Specialist, you will be pivotal in assessing patients, determining eligibility for medical cannabis treatment, and providing ongoing care and support. This role requires a thorough understanding of cannabis pharmacology, therapeutic applications, and relevant regulations in Ontario, Canada. Understanding the relevant regulations for the other Provinces and territories will be an asset.
What you will be doing
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients seeking medical cannabis treatment
- Collaborate with patients to develop individualized treatment plans, incorporating medical cannabis as appropriate.
- Educate patients on the therapeutic benefits, potential risks, and proper use of medical cannabis products.
- Provide ongoing monitoring and follow-up care to assess treatment effectiveness, adjust dosages, and address any concerns or adverse effects.
What you bring to the team
- Current registration as a Nurse Practitioner in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Certification or training in medical cannabis assessment and treatment is preferred.
- Experience as a Nurse Practitioner, preferably in primary care, pain management, or related fields.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and effectively educate patients.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and guidelines governing medical cannabis use in Ontario, Canada.
