Salary Range / Classification: $29.26 to $31.00 per hour
Job Type: Part-time, permanent
Availability / Rotation: Ability and willingness to work a rotation: all shifts - days, evenings, nights: weekends & holidays. Availability for call-in shifts

Position Overview
Reporting directly to the Director of Care/Associate Director of Care, the Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) assumes responsibility as a team leader for an assigned unit, under the direction of the Registered Nurse. Primary duties include the safe provision of medications and treatments to residents.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Perform nursing skills in compliance with the College of Nurses of Ontario Standards of Practice
- Take responsibility for the management of the nursing unit on a tour of duty under the direction of the Registered Nurse
- Assist with implementation of prescribed medical regime as per the resident’s Plan of Care (POC)
- Take responsibility for activities delegated by the Registered Nurse
- Continuously observe and update the assessment of the resident by using critical nursing assessment skills and all available resources
Skills and Knowledge:
- Registered Practical Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Experience working in Long Term Care desirable
- Current CPR and First Aid certification
- Ability to supervise and oversee Personal Support Workers (PSWs) in a Team Lead role
Soft Skills:
- Maintain professional collaborative relationships with other multidisciplinary team members AND therapeutic nurse-client relationship with the resident and their family
- Demonstrate sound leadership skills in problem solving and decision-making
- Act as an effective mentor to new RPN and PSW staff and provide ongoing encouragement and support as needed
