Obstetrician & Gynecologist – Wetaskiwin
Description
Alberta Health Services, Central Zone, and the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology, invites applications for an Obstetrician & Gynecologist to establish a full-time practice in the community of Wetaskiwin. This position will provide a comprehensive set of surgical and medical OBGYN services for the Wetaskiwin Hospital and Care Centre and surrounding communities and will participate in on-call coverage for obstetrics, c-section services, and emergency gynecology.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Reside in and have their primary residence within the community of Wetaskiwin;
- Obtain and maintain an AHS Medical Staff Appointment and appropriate privileges to provide the Services;
- Abide by the AHS Medical Staff Bylaws, the AHS Medical Staff Rules, and AHS policies;
- Establish and maintain a full-time community-based practice within the community;
- Provide call assistance as per call schedules, including full-time participation in the Obstetrics and Gynecology call schedule, as required;
- Participate in quality improvement programs and initiatives undertaken within the Zone Clinical Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology;
- Participate in relevant Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs;
- Contribute to and participate in other administrative responsibilities, as assigned;
- Work collaboratively with peers and care team colleagues in support of patient care;
Once chosen, the successful candidate may choose to operate their business by joining an existing independent outpatient practice or form an independent outpatient office of their own. This is the candidate's independent business decision and will not be managed through the recruitment process.

Required Qualifications:
- Have or be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Certification (RCPSC)
- Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO)
- Managing Obstetrical Risk Efficiently (MOREOB) / Advances in Labour and Risk Management (ALARM);
- Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP)
Desired Qualifications:
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS);
