The Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Alberta Health Services (AHS) Calgary Zone, the Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary is actively recruiting for a Medical Director, Outpatient Program based out of the Peter Lougheed Centre. Candidates must have their FRCSC in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and preference will be given to a candidate with Royal College Subspecialty Certification. All candidates will be required to have clinical academic appointments with the Cummings School of Medicine University of Calgary. The Medical Director for Gynaecology Outpatient Program provides senior physician clinical and administrative representation specific to the Gynaecology outpatient clinics at Peter Lougheed Centre. The clinic provides ongoing advice, support and services, including abortion services to women-in-need in Southern AB, Southern BC, and Saskatchewan (very little D & E access), and Northern Alberta Yellowknife, and Yukon (when capacity in Edmonton is limited). Ensures the provision of high-quality outpatient clinical services by medical staff, resident staff and medical students in congruence with Alberta Health Services by undertaking to establish benchmarks and measurement mechanisms in accordance with department quality assurance framework. Establish, review and revise policies, procedures, and guidelines relating to patient care in a timely fashion. Ensure the resources of the clinic are utilize in a cost-effective manner within the program in conjunction with the manager of the gynecology outpatient clinic, Peter Lougheed Clinic. Participating in the reginal Department Quality safety committee, Zone Women’s Operational Committee (ZWOC), Gynecology and Gynecology management committee. Participate in ongoing gynaecology Outpatient Clinical management meetings.
Qualifications:
FRCSC Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Incumbent must be an active member of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and a member in good standing.
The candidate must be eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
Must read, write and speak English.
