Alberta Health Services, Department of Child Health, is inviting applicants to apply for a locum Adolescent Medicine position. This locum would cover 6-12 weeks in Adolescent Medicine in Edmonton, AB. Duties would include clinical care within Adolescent Medicine ambulatory clinics, as needed inpatient consultation. There are no in-house on-call requirements. This position is mostly clinical, with opportunity for engagement with education. There are 2 x 6weeks locum positions available. The Section of Adolescent Medicine, based at Stollery Children’s Hospital, provides subspecialty care for adolescents ages 12-18. Adolescent Medicine specialists focus on the comprehensive assessment and treatment of complex adolescent health issues. Areas of focus include sexual and reproductive health, supporting youth with chronic illness, management of mood and anxiety disorders, and gender affirming care.
Qualifications: The candidate must be eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta and have a Royal College Physician and Surgeons of Canada certification in Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, or in good standing with a subspeciality training program that will be eligible to apply for RCPSC Subspeciality Certification in Adolescent Medicine. Must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA) and medical insurance coverage. - Compensation: Remuneration for this position is based on the Academic Medicine & Health Services Program (AMHSP). Salary will be commensurate with education and experience and ranges based on a number of different factors with an annual mean of $349,009.92 for full-time work.
