Description

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Pharmacist to join our team. As a Pharmacist, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the safe and effective use of medications. The location of this position is Red Lake, Ontario.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and interpret prescriptions to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of medication therapy
  • Dispense medications accurately and efficiently
  • Provide medication counseling to patients on proper usage, potential side effects, and drug interactions
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop individualized treatment plans
  • Monitor patients' medication therapy for effectiveness and safety
  • Ensure compliance with all legal requirements and regulations regarding the dispensing of medications
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
  • Stay updated on the latest developments in pharmaceutical research, drug therapies, and regulations

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, drug interactions, and pharmaceutical calculations
  • 2 years of Experience in a hospital or acute care setting preferred
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively educate patients on medication usage
  • Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to ensure accurate dispensing of medications
  • Proficiency in medication administration techniques, including pediatric dosing
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Able to work effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary health care team
  • Commitment to standards of excellence and the concept of accountability
  • Commitment to and participation in Quality Enhancement activities

QUALIFICATIONS

  • B.Sc. Phm. Degree – required
  • Pharm D - preferred
  • Licensed to practice pharmacy in the province of Ontario
  • In good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists with Part A (direct patient care) license with OCP

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract

Contract length: 1 month

Salary: $75.00 per hour

Schedule: Monday to Friday

Experience: pharmacist: 1 year (required)

Licence/Certification: Pharmacy License (required)
