As a Clinical Pharmacist you will:
- Work to provide individualized pharmacotherapy
- Counsel patients about their medication therapy
- Collaborate with physicians and other health care providers to develop, implement, and monitor therapeutic plans
- Assist in the development of drug therapy guidelines for individual disease conditions
- Prepare and submit case studies and articles for publication in professional journals
- Act as a department resource person within your assigned area
- Participate in medication use evaluations, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical drug trials
- Provide mentorship and supervision to pharmacy students, residents, and new staff

- Current registration as a Pharmacist with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia
- Completion of an accredited Hospital Pharmacy Residency Program

Detailed Overview: The Clinical Pharmacist provides clinical pharmacy services including individualization of patient medication therapy; patient medication counselling; consultation with physicians, nurses and other health care providers to develop and discuss therapeutic plans and assistance in the development of drug therapy guidelines for individual disease conditions.
Responsibilities:
- Consult with physicians, nurses, and other health care providers
- Individualize patient medication therapy
- Provide patient medication counselling
- Assist in developing drug therapy guidelines
- Participate in ward rounds and program team meetings
- Act as department resource person
- Contribute items to professional journals
- Provide instruction and supervision to pharmacy students and residents
- Participate in quality improvement activities
- Perform drug distribution duties
Qualifications:
- Current registration as a Pharmacist with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia
- Completion of an accredited Hospital Pharmacy Residency Program or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
