Position Summary
Under the general direction of the Pharmacy Manager, the Pharmacist is responsible for ensuring that all prescriptions are dispensed accurately and safely while providing pharmaceutical patient care ensuring the highest level of therapeutic appropriateness for patients. The Pharmacist responds to a multitude of scenarios including, but not limited to: verifying safe and appropriate medication administration, assessing and dispensing critical medications, rapidly responding to palliative care prescriptions and arranging drug deliveries with our delivery team. This position will include day shifts and a rotation into weekend/evening.
Your Day To Day
- Collaborates with all members of the pharmacy team to ensure medication orders are dispensed accurately, safely, timely and completely
- Completes daily tasks in accordance with established work place policies and procedures
- Consults with members of the pharmacy management team when there are unresolved issues surrounding day to day work functions
- Provides exceptional customer care to CareRx Pharmacy patients and home partners
- Communicates with all members of the resident care team while maintaining professionalism by following corporate policies to ensure the highest standard of customer care and quality of pharmacy service at all times
What You Bring To The Team
- Currently licensed and in good standing with the Alberta College of Pharmacy
- Proven ability to foster strong partnerships with other members of the health care team
- Effective organization, planning, and time management skills
- Demonstrated high level of fluency in both written and spoken English
- Knowledge of Kroll Windows application
