Who We Are

We, at Carman Pharmacy, have embraced the expanded scope of practice for community pharmacists in Manitoba and are seeking our next enthusiastic team member. We are a community-minded pharmacy that services the town of Carman and surrounding towns and rural areas. The town of Carman is a wonderful place to live and work, with many local amenities and is just a 45-minute drive to the city of Winnipeg. We encourage personal development and support all efforts to further knowledge and expertise. We know that a work-life balance is extremely important and therefore our pharmacy is closed all evenings, Sundays, and holidays, and we offer a rotating Saturday shift. Our practice has always been patient-centered, family-focused, and community-minded!

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Working collaboratively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure positive drug therapy outcomes
  • Conducting health screening clinics
  • Engaging in community outreach programs
  • Conducting immunization clinics
  • Offering community support groups in various areas such as Diabetes, COPD, and Care-giver Support
  • Performing medication reviews and medication management services as per the provincial standards
  • Patient counseling on selection and use of non-prescription medication
  • Ensuring accurate pharmacotherapy
  • Advising patients and healthcare professionals on the indications, contra-indications, adverse effects, drug interactions, and dosage of medications
  • Maintaining medication profiles of customers
  • Ensuring proper preparation, packaging, distribution, and storage of vaccines, serums, biologicals, and other drugs and pharmaceuticals

Requirements:

  • Licensed and in good standing with The College of Pharmacist of Manitoba
  • Strong sense of professionalism
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Superior patient and physician relation skills
  • Injection Certification
  • Excellent leadership and performance management skills an asset
  • Additional accreditation such as a CDE or a Geriatric Pharmacist an asset
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office an asset
  • Working experience with Kroll Pharmacy dispensing software an asset
