South Country Co-op is hiring two Pharmacy Student Pharmacy Assistant - Seasonal positions at each one of our Pharmacies within Medicine Hat, Alberta.
South Country Co-op is currently seeking a Pharmacy Student to join our team as a Pharmacy Assistant. This seasonal position will be based at one of our Pharmacies, located within Medicine Hat. This position reports to the Pharmacy Manager and works under the direct supervision of the Pharmacist on Duty. The Pharmacy Assistant performs technical duties, including data entry and preliminary filling of prescriptions. They must employ a high degree of direct patient contact, which is crucial in developing a positive patient experience. The Provincial Regulatory Body limits duties that the Pharmacy Assistants are authorized to perform.
Qualifications:
- Candidates must possess excellent internal and external customer service skills and strong attention to detail; basic pharmacy knowledge would be an asset.
- Applicants should be self-reliant, goal-oriented, and be able to set and adjust priorities and schedules.
- Completed first year of Post-secondary studies in a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (B.Sc.Phm.) at a recognized and accredited post-secondary institution within Canada
- Required to undergo criminal record check
- High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Previous pharmacy experience is an asset
- Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing
- Excellent internal and external customer service skills
- Strong organizational skills and detail orientation
- Proficient data entry skills; experience with Microsoft Office is an asset
- Ability to respond quickly in a dynamic and changing environment
- Ability to adapt to new technology
- High level of integrity and work ethic
- Ability to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn
- Availability: Full Availability (Including weekdays, Evenings, Weekends)
