Adult Psychiatrist - Grande Prairie

Mental Health, Recovery Alberta is inviting applications for an eligible FRC(P) Adult General Psychiatrist to join a diverse Addictions & Mental Health team, providing services to communities with a high need of mental health services, and to establish a full-time practice in the community of Grande Prairie. This position will provide services in Adult Psychiatry Services.

Duties include, but may not be limited to:

• Reside in and have as his/her primary residence within the community for Grande Prairie
• Establish and maintain a full-time community addiction and mental health based practice within Grande Prairie
• Provide hospital and call assistance as per call schedules
• Provide psychiatric services (beyond primary community of practice) either in-person or utilizing Tele-Medicine or another form of telecommunication, which may include but not limited to communities experiencing a high need for mental health services
• Contribute to and participate in teaching programs and activities
• Contribute to and participate in other administrative duties as assigned

The candidate may choose to operate their business by joining an existing independent outpatient practice or form an independent outpatient office of their own. This is the candidate's independent business decision and will not be managed through the recruitment process.

The Grande Prairie Regional Hospital (GPRH) is a 208 bed acute care facility with a busy emergency department, ICU, NICU and specialty services in OB/Gyn, orthopedic surgery, general surgery, ophthalmology, ENT, urology, palliative care, pediatrics, and psychiatry; hosting 10,000 discharges, approximately 55,000 emergency department visits, over 1,400 deliveries and more than 9,000 surgical procedures annually.

• Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Certification (RCPSC), or FRCPC eligible
