Description
Alberta Health Services – North Zone, and the Department of Psychiatry at the St Paul - St Therese Healthcare Centre, are currently looking for a General to join their current team of Specialists and Family Medicine physicians and establish a full-time practice in the community of St Paul. This position will provide services in General Psychiatry.
The successful candidate is required to offer services within the St Paul - St Therese Healthcare Centre and out of a community-based Specialty practice, within the community of St Paul.
The candidate may choose to operate their business by joining an existing independent outpatient practice or form an independent outpatient office of their own. This is the candidate's independent business decision and will not be managed through the recruitment process.
The successful candidate must have training and expertise (FRCPC or FRCPC Eligible) in the management of Adult or Adult and Child Psychiatry.
Duties include but not limited to:
- Reside in and have as his/her primary residence within the community of St Paul.
- Establish and maintain full-time community-based practice within the community.
- Obtain and maintain an AHS Medical Staff Appointment and appropriate privileges to provide the Services.
- Provide call assistance as per call schedules, including equal participation in the Psychiatry call schedule, as required.
- Abide by the AHS Medical Staff Bylaws, the AHS Medical Staff Rules and AHS policies.
- Participate in quality improvement programs and initiatives undertaken within the Zone Clinical Department of Psychiatry.
- Participate in relevant Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs.
- Contribute to and participate in other administrative duties, as assigned.
- Work collaboratively with peers and care team colleagues in support of patient care.
