Radiation Oncologist, Cross Cancer Institute, Edmonton, Alberta

The Department of Oncology, Division of Radiation Oncology at the Cross Cancer Institute (CCI), with Alberta Health Services is accepting applications for a full-time Radiation Oncologist. The successful applicant will join a team of multidisciplinary cancer programs located at the Cross Cancer Institute, Edmonton Zone, and 28 Radiation Oncologists currently on staff working within the radiation treatment area. Contribution to clinical trials is expected. Experience or interest in breast or GU tumors would be an asset.

The successful applicant will have a M.D. or equivalent degree and Radiation Oncology specialist certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, or equivalent. This position is LMIA eligible. AHS Sponsorship for CPSA Practice Readiness Assessment is being offered for this position. Candidates must be eligible to obtain licensure in Alberta without restriction and for medical staff appointment at Alberta Health Services.

Compensation: Compensation will comply with the agreement between Cancer Care Alberta, Alberta Health Services, and the Alberta Medical Association. The annual compensation will be calculated in accordance with the Cancer Care Alberta Physician compensation grid for Radiation Oncologists ranging from Level 1 $416,192 per annum to Level 3 $531,341 per annum. Grid placement will be based on qualifications, training, and experience.

  • Annual Compensation is based on the contracted 210 Service days.
  • Note: The Oncologists are eligible for Additional Workload Compensation during the position’s vacancies in Cancer Care Alberta.

Additional support from Cancer Care Alberta:

  1. Relocation Support: up to $18,500 for recruits within North America and up to $25,000 for recruits outside North America.
  2. AHS Sponsorship Support if required.
  3. Immigration (work permit visa support) if required.
  4. Strategic recruitment Incentive.

Community Info: The CCI is a free-standing integrated cancer treatment and research facility that functions as the tertiary oncology referral center for Northern Alberta. It has a strong record of basic and translational research as well as clinical trial activity in oncology.
