The Section of Rheumatology, Edmonton Zone invites applications for a Locum Rheumatologist to be based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. This for a locum role of 1-2 years.
Currently, there are 27 Rheumatologists working within the Edmonton Zone. They currently provide clinical services to all acute care facilities in the Edmonton Zone, and consultative service to Northern Alberta, British Columbia, and the Northwest Territories with Clinics in Edmonton, and outreach Clinics in Red Deer, Edson, Grande Prairie, and Yellowknife. The Rheumatologists actively support the research and education missions of the Division of Rheumatology of the University of Alberta.
The Division’s research activities have been nationally and internationally recognized and center on vasculitis, systemic sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis (RAPPORT), ankylosing spondylitis, dermatomyositis, lupus, osteoporosis, check-point inhibitor induced autoimmunity, fibromyalgia, and ASIA. Research also occurs in medical education methodology. The Educational program in Rheumatology spans all levels of medical education from medical students through comprehensive fellowship programs with Rheumatology Residents uniformly achieving high success rates in national (RCPSC) examinations.
Key accountabilities of the candidate will include but will not be limited to clinical services. Individuals interested in the education of trainees are strongly encouraged to apply.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have an MD degree, or equivalent. He or she will be eligible to be certification in Rheumatology with the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada. As well, he or she will be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA).
