Your Opportunity:
The Scheduling Clerk IV is responsible for supporting the Resident Care Units by procuring staff and providing customer service to assist staff, residents, and visitors. The successful applicant is responsible for filling daily and long-term scheduling needs and maintaining adequate staffing levels. Understanding AUPE, HSAA, USW, UNA, and CUPE Local 41 Collective Agreements and working knowledge of 24x7 rotation is preferred. Completion of time sheets and employee work records for payroll purposes and statistics may be required. Strong customer service skills are required to assist staff, residents, and visitors. The successful applicant must possess good communication, organization, and time management to meet deadlines and multitask in a busy environment with frequent interruptions. The applicant must possess good initiative and flexibility to adapt to changing demands as well as sound decision-making, problem-solving, and critical thinking to resolve issues.

Description: The Clerk IV provides complex clerical support. The Clerk IV performs these tasks in accordance with established standards, and the Mission, Vision, Values, policies, and procedures of Covenant Health. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the CUPE 41 Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications: One year related post-secondary certificate required.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Additional Required Qualifications: Grade 12 or equivalent.
Minimum 2 years staff scheduling experience, healthcare preferred.
Minimum of two years experience using a healthcare-related scheduling system (ESP & ASC preferred).
A working knowledge of 24x7 scheduling rotations in a unionized environment.
Proven Customer Service skills.
Excellent time management and organization skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must have the ability to pay close attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
Ability to adapt to competing demands, unpredictable workload changes, and deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications: Certificate in Office Administration an asset.
Formal ESP & ASC training from Covenant Health an asset.
Training and experience using ESP Advanced scheduling functions.
Experience with payroll, timekeeping, and data entry.
